From Super Bowls to Squared Circles: Is Tom Brady Ready for the WWE?

When you are widely considered the greatest quarterback in NFL history, retirement doesn’t necessarily mean slowing down—it means finding a new stage. Tom Brady, the legendary seven-time Super Bowl champion, has set his sights on a new challenge, and this time, it’s not on a football field. The GOAT wants to step into the squared circle of the WWE.

The Call to Nick Khan: “Make it Happen”

During a recent appearance on the “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast with WWE superstar Cody Rhodes at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Brady revealed his eagerness to transition from football cleats to wrestling boots. At 48, Brady isn’t looking for a leisurely retirement; he’s looking for a storyline.

“I need to get an invite. I’ve been waiting for [WWE president] Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix,” Brady shared. “I feel like I’m retired from football, and I have an opportunity to go out there and still showcase that I’m a little bit of an athlete.”

Brady’s confidence is well-founded. Throughout his career with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he displayed a level of discipline and physical conditioning that rivals athletes half his age.

A Tradition of Elite Athletic Crossovers

Tom Brady wouldn’t be the first high-profile athlete or celebrity to make a splash in the wrestling world. In recent years, WWE has perfected the art of the “celebrity crossover,” blending mainstream fame with athletic spectacle. Some notable examples include:

    n

  • Logan Paul: Who transitioned from a social media influencer to a legitimate in-ring competitor.
  • Bad Bunny: The global music icon who delivered impressive performances in major matchups.
  • Pat McAfee: The former NFL punter who brought his chaotic energy to the WWE universe.

Furthermore, the link between the NFL and pro wrestling runs deep. From Bill Goldberg, who played for the Atlanta Falcons, to Roman Reigns, a former standout at Georgia Tech, the physical demands of both sports often attract the same breed of powerhouse athlete.

From “Cute” to Competitive

Interestingly, Brady’s relationship with the WWE hasn’t always been purely admirational. Back in February, the quarterback sparked a lighthearted debate with Logan Paul, describing the product as “very cute.” While he acknowledged he enjoyed the entertainment, the comment didn’t go unnoticed by wrestling heavyweights like CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Paul Heyman.

However, it seems the “cute” factor has evolved into genuine curiosity. Brady believes he has the skill set to handle at least one high-stakes match, and he is openly challenging WWE leadership to put him in the mix.

Will the GOAT Actually Wrestle?

Whether Tom Brady becomes a hero or a villain (a “heel”) in the eyes of the WWE fans, one thing is certain: the ratings would skyrocket. The combination of Brady’s legendary status and the theatrical nature of professional wrestling is a recipe for a viral moment.

What do you think? Would Tom Brady be a natural in the ring, or should he leave the wrestling to the pros? Let us know in the comments!
