Experience the Heartwarming Magic of Christmas Music at Yamhill County’s Community Cantata
As the air chills and the holiday season approaches, there’s nothing quite like the uplifting power of Christmas music to fill our hearts with joy and anticipation. In Yamhill County, this festive spirit comes alive in a truly special way through the annual Community Christmas Cantata – an event that transcends mere performance to become a beacon of community, compassion, and cherished tradition.
More than just a choral composition, the Yamhill Community Christmas Cantata is a vital annual fundraising event. For 39 years, it has brought together individuals from across the region to support the Yamhill Community Action Partnership food bank. In times of local and national food uncertainty, the importance of this initiative cannot be overstated. This year’s inspiring theme, “Christmas Changes Everything,” perfectly encapsulates the hope and generosity at its core.
A Symphony of Giving: Supporting Our Community
Since its inception in 1987, the Cantata has raised nearly $356,000 to combat hunger in Yamhill County. Each performance offers a free-will offering, directly contributing to this incredible cause. By attending, you’re not just enjoying beautiful Christmas music; you’re actively helping to ensure that local families have food on their tables during the holidays and beyond. It’s a powerful reminder of how community and art can come together for a greater good.
The Melodies of the Season: What to Expect

- A six-part, non-denominational choir of all ages
- A vibrant youth chorus
- An American Sign Language (ASL) choir
- Skilled narrators
- A full orchestra with piano, synthesizer, percussion, guitar, electric bass, flute, clarinet, and cello

These performers represent numerous faiths and come from at least 17 Oregon communities, five Oregon counties, and three different states, showcasing the remarkable breadth of community spirit.
