Elijah Blue Allman Arrested: Cher’s Son Faces Assault Charges
Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, 49, was arrested on Friday, March 8th, 2024, for allegedly acting belligerently at St. Paul’s School, a private high school in New Hampshire. According to Concord Police, Allman was charged with four misdemeanours and one violation.
Details of the Arrest
The charges include two counts of simple assault, one count of criminal trespass, one count of criminal threatening, and a violation of disorderly conduct. Police responded to reports of a disturbance in the school’s dining hall around 7 p.m. local time. Reports indicate that Allman had no affiliation with the school.
Following his arrest at Merrimack County Jail, Allman was released on bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 20th at Concord District Court, as reported by WMUR. Neither Allman nor Cher have issued a public statement regarding the incident as of yet.
Recent Legal Battles & Conservatorship Concerns
This arrest comes after a period of legal challenges for Allman and his mother. In December 2023, Cher filed for a conservatorship over her son, citing concerns about his mental health and substance abuse issues. Court documents revealed that Cher believed Allman was at risk of mismanaging his financial resources, particularly funds from a trust established by his late father, musician Gregg Allman.
Cher’s legal team argued that Allman was vulnerable to spending his inheritance on drugs, potentially jeopardizing his well-being. Concerns were also raised regarding the suitability of Allman’s estranged wife, Marieangela King, as a potential conservator, citing her own history with addiction and mental health struggles. Cher stated she had “worked tirelessly” to secure treatment for her son and acted solely in his best interests.
Conservatorship Withdrawn: A Private Agreement Reached
However, by September 2024, Cher voluntarily withdrew her petition for conservatorship. According to People Magazine, the two reached a private agreement after a nine-month legal battle.
“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition. This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today,” stated Avi Levy and Steven Brumer of Cage & Miles, LLP, Allman’s legal representatives.
This recent arrest raises new questions about Allman’s well-being and the ongoing dynamics within the Allman-Cher family. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
