Dexter: Brian Cox Cast as The New York Ripper in Season 2

The mystery surrounding Dexter: Resurrection deepens with a chilling new addition to the cast. Emmy winner Brian Cox, renowned for his captivating performance in Succession, is set to portray The New York Ripper in Season 2. This notorious serial killer terrorized the city years ago, and while no longer actively killing, he continues to taunt the survivors of his gruesome spree.

The revelation of The New York Ripper’s identity came in the Season 1 finale, discovered by Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) within a folder belonging to Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), labeled “Don Frampt, New York Ripper.” This discovery is just one lead in a series of clues Dexter is pursuing, tucked away in a duffel bag, as he attempts to unravel a web of past crimes.

Dexter’s Journey to Confront His Past

Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection, helmed by showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, picks up weeks after Dexter sustains a gunshot wound. Awakening from a coma, he finds his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), missing. Driven by a desire to make amends, Dexter ventures to New York City, determined to locate Harrison and repair their fractured relationship.

However, his path to reconciliation is fraught with obstacles. The arrival of Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) with probing questions forces Dexter to confront the consequences of his past actions. As father and son navigate the darkness of the city, they find themselves entangled in a situation far more complex than they anticipated, realizing that their only escape lies in facing it together.
