Crime 101 boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbara, Corey Hawkins, Nick Nolte, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The film debuted in theaters on February 13th, earning $14.2 million in its opening weekend. The Intriguing Plot: A Game of Cat and Mouse
Based on the novella by Don Winslow, Crime 101 centers around a cunning jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) who has been baffling law enforcement with a series of audacious heists along the 101 freeway. His carefully planned operations are thrown into turmoil when he sets his sights on his biggest score yet, and his path intersects with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) at a personal crossroads.
A determined detective (Mark Ruffalo), convinced he’s cracked the thief’s pattern, relentlessly pursues him, escalating the tension. As the heist draws near, the lines between hunter and hunted become increasingly blurred, forcing all three characters to confront life-altering decisions and the realization that there’s no turning back.
Amazon MGM Studios’ Success
Crime 101 follows the success of Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, which recently surpassed $300 million at the global box office – the highest-grossing film for Amazon MGM Studios since the acquisition of MGM. This demonstrates Amazon’s growing presence and success in the film industry.
