Local Business Owner Hosts Heartfelt Fundraiser in Memory of Brother

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Jessica Fuller, owner of Fuller Plants LLC, channeled her grief into a powerful act of remembrance and support this Saturday with ‘Brian’s Birthday’ fundraiser. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fuller Plants opened its doors to the community, dedicating a significant portion of the day’s proceeds to a vital cause.

A Tribute Born from Loss

Fuller’s initiative is a poignant tribute to her brother, Brian, who tragically passed away in 2022 due to fentanyl poisoning. Opening Fuller Plants LLC just days before his death, Jessica sought a way to transform her sorrow into something positive. “My brother passed away the same week we opened, so I just got in my head to do something good with my sadness,” she shared.

36% for The Shepherd’s House

This year, marking what would have been Brian’s 36th birthday, Fuller pledged 36% of Saturday’s sales to The Shepherd’s House, a local organization dedicated to providing comprehensive addiction recovery services. The Shepherd’s House offers a range of programs, including residential treatment, outpatient counseling, and support groups, helping individuals reclaim their lives from the grip of addiction. You can learn more about the opioid crisis and its impact on communities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Generous Matching Donation

The impact of ‘Brian’s Birthday’ was further amplified by an anonymous donor who generously agreed to match the amount raised and contribute an additional donation. This incredible support underscores the community’s commitment to addressing the opioid crisis and supporting those affected by addiction.

A Growing Tradition

This marks the fourth year of ‘Brian’s Birthday,’ a testament to Jessica Fuller’s unwavering dedication to her brother’s memory and the cause of addiction recovery. She is already looking forward to continuing the tradition next year.
