The Traitors: Episode 7 Recap – A Deadly Banquet and Shocking Reveals
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 4, Episode 7 of “The Traitors.” After weeks of faithfuls turning on each other, the game took a dramatic turn with traitor-on-traitor action. The January 29th episode, titled “The Black Banquet,” saw the faithful successfully banish a traitor following a brilliantly executed “murder in plain sight.”
A Banquet of Deceit
Hosted by the ever-campy Alan Cummings, the banquet quickly descended into a scene reminiscent of the infamous Red Wedding from “Game of Thrones.” Cummings revealed that one contestant had been secretly ‘murdered,’ adding immense pressure to the group. With mere minutes to decide, players scrambled to secure two available antidotes, unsure of who had been ‘poisoned.’ The tension was palpable as “Survivor” winner Natalie Anderson and “Top Chef” host Kristen Kish quickly grabbed the drinks, while Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski voiced her growing sense of danger.
Yam Yam’s Fate and Lisa Rinna’s Deception
The episode took a shocking turn when Yam Yam Arocho was ‘murdered’ by traitor Lisa Rinna. Rinna cleverly tricked Yam Yam into touching a cursed amulet during the banquet. As hooded guards escorted the “Survivor” Season 44 winner away, Yam Yam’s desperate cry, “Lisa! It was Lisa who kissed me!” immediately ignited suspicion. Rinna’s seemingly innocent air kisses around the room, coupled with Natalie’s eagerness to take the antidote, further fueled the accusations.
Framing Natalie and Lisa’s Downfall
Lisa, along with fellow traitor Candiace Dillard Bassett, actively worked to frame Natalie, the last remaining player with a strong strategic position. A slip of the tongue – Natalie accidentally saying “we murdered” – inadvertently provided ammunition for their scheme. However, their efforts ultimately backfired.
Lisa Rinna became the second traitor to be banished from the game, largely due to the relentless efforts of “The Bachelor” star Colton Underwood and fellow traitor Rob Rausch. Underwood stated there was no saving Rinna after Yam Yam’s death, while Rausch strategically threw her under the bus. In a final, defiant statement, Rinna declared herself “the most iconic legendary traitor.”
Remaining Traitors and Future Strategies
With Lisa’s exit, Rob Rausch and Candiace Dillard Bassett remain as the last two traitors. Their alliance is now fractured, with Rob’s betrayal of Lisa and Candiace’s stray vote against him creating a clear rift. Rob currently holds the advantage of the first dagger, granting him an extra vote at the next roundtable, earned by excelling in a mission and correctly identifying Natalie’s lie.
