A New Chapter for Mississauga’s Premier Sports Hub
Change is coming to one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The City of Mississauga has officially announced that the Paramount Fine Foods Centre will undergo a significant identity shift. Starting June 1, 2026, the facility will transition to a new temporary name: the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre.
This decision marks the end of a nearly eight-year partnership between the city and Paramount Fine Foods (PFF). While the name on the building is changing, the world-class experience inside remains the same.
Why the Name Change?
The City of Mississauga has taken the unilateral step to terminate the naming rights and concession agreement. According to official statements, the decision stems from a prolonged failure by Paramount Fine Foods to meet its financial contractual obligations to the city.
Despite efforts to reach a resolution, the City has emphasized a firm stance: all vendors, contractors, and partners are expected to uphold their agreements to ensure the sustainable management of public facilities.
Will This Affect My Tickets or Bookings?
For the thousands of sports fans, event-goers, and community members who use the facility, the most important takeaway is this: business as usual.
- n
- Existing Bookings: All scheduled programs, rentals, and events will proceed as planned.
- Tickets: Any tickets previously issued under the “Paramount Fine Foods Centre” name will be fully honoured.
- Food Services: Starting June 1, 2026, the City of Mississauga will directly assume responsibility for food operations to ensure a consistent and high-quality guest experience.
Exploring the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre
Whether you are a die-hard sports fan or a fitness enthusiast, the facility continues to be a powerhouse of recreation and entertainment. It remains the proud home of the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, the official affiliate of the Toronto Raptors.
The facility’s impressive amenities include:
- n
- Main Spectator Arena: A versatile space for major concerts, sports, and high-profile events.
- Ice Rinks: Three additional rinks dedicated to hockey and public skating.
- Turf Fields: A full-size indoor artificial turf field and two outdoor fully lit fields (including one winter dome) for soccer, football, and lacrosse.
- Gym & Fitness: A triple gymnasium for basketball and volleyball, alongside a dedicated gymnastics and fitness centre.
- Corporate Spaces: Professional meeting rooms and lounge areas for events.
What to Expect During the Transition
As the city moves toward this new identity, visitors may see both the old and new names in digital listings and physical signage. To make the transition seamless, the City is implementing updated on-site signage and customer support.
A dedicated website, mississaugasec.com, is currently under development to provide the most up-to-date information for users. For further updates, residents are encouraged to visit the official City of Mississauga website or follow their social media channels.
“Residents, tenants, and event organizers should expect business as usual,” says Raj Sheth, Commissioner of Community Services. “Our focus is on maintaining a smooth transition as the City moves to the temporary name and assumes food service operations.”
