De’Anthony Melton Injury Update: Warriors Guard Out Against Heat

De’Anthony Melton Ruled Out for Warriors vs. Heat

The Golden State Warriors will begin a busy week with a back-to-back starting Monday at San Francisco’s Chase Center, hosting the Miami Heat. However, the Warriors will be without a key contributor off the bench as guard De’Anthony Melton is officially ruled out for Monday night’s game due to left knee injury management.

Melton’s Injury History and Recent Performance

Melton began the season sidelined after undergoing ACL surgery on his left knee last season. His return has been a positive spark for the Warriors, appearing in 18 games and averaging 11 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 20.7 minutes per game. He’s been particularly effective recently, scoring 22 or more points in three of his last six outings.

Over those six games, Melton is averaging an impressive 17.2 points on 52.8% shooting from the field and a remarkable 43.2% from beyond the arc. The Warriors have a 5-1 record during this stretch, and are 12-6 overall with Melton in the lineup, highlighting his impact.

Other Warriors Injury Updates

Melton isn’t the only Warrior dealing with injury concerns. Seth Curry (left sciatic) and Gui Santos (left ankle sprain) are also listed as out for Monday’s contest against the Heat. However, there’s positive news regarding Draymond Green (right ankle), who is listed as probable.

Heat Injury Report

The Miami Heat will also be without a key player, as Tyler Herro (right rib contusion) is unavailable. Fortunately for Miami, Jimmy Butler, who was a late scratch on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets, is expected to return to the lineup against his former team.

Warriors’ Plan Without Melton

With Melton sidelined, the Warriors will need to rely on increased contributions from Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, and rookie Will Richard off the bench. These players will be crucial in filling the scoring and playmaking void left by Melton’s absence.

The Warriors and Heat will tip off at 7 p.m. PT on Monday night at Chase Center.
