Heading to a Show? Free TTC Subway Service Returns for Rogers Stadium Concerts!
Get ready, music lovers! Toronto is gearing up for a massive concert season, and getting home after the final encore just got a whole lot easier. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has officially announced that free TTC subway service will be available for fans attending events at the City of Toronto’s newest open-air hotspot: Rogers Stadium.
Thanks to a strategic partnership between the City, the TTC, and Live Nation Canada, attendees can skip the fare and ride the subway for free following every show this season. This initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and ensure a smooth, safe exit for the thousands of fans expected to flood the venue.
Everything You Need to Know About the Free Transit Perk
Whether you are seeing your favorite pop star or a legendary rock band, here is the breakdown of how the complimentary transit service will work:
- n
- Eligible Stations: Free subway service will be available from Sheppard West Station, Downsview Park Station, and Wilson Station.
- Timing: The complimentary service kicks in approximately 30 minutes before each show ends.
- Increased Capacity: To prevent overcrowding, the TTC is increasing subway frequency starting 90 minutes before the event and continuing after 8 p.m.
- Extra Bus Support: Additional buses will be deployed on key routes to support the flow of traffic, specifically Route 84 Sheppard West, Route 96 Wilson, and Route 106 Sentinel.
Don’t Get Confused: Rogers Stadium vs. Rogers Centre
It is important for concert-goers to note that Rogers Stadium is NOT the Rogers Centre. While the Rogers Centre is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Rogers Stadium is a temporary, open-air venue with a 50,000-person capacity located on the historic grounds of the former Downsview airport. Be sure to check your tickets and map your route accordingly to avoid ending up in the wrong part of the city!
The 2026 Season Kicks Off with a Bang
This is the second consecutive year that fans can enjoy this transit perk, proving that the partnership between the city and Live Nation is a win for the community. The excitement officially begins on May 23, 2026, with an electric performance by Bruno Mars.
Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses. Grab your tickets, plan your trip, and get ready to experience world-class entertainment at Rogers Stadium without the stress of the commute!
