Tragedy Strikes ‘Summer House’ Star West Wilson’s Family: Cousin Arrested for Murder

In a devastating turn of events, the family of West Wilson, a prominent cast member of the hit Bravo series Summer House, is grappling with an unimaginable tragedy. Reports have emerged that Wilson’s cousin has been arrested and charged with the murder of their grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson.

The Shocking Arrest of Dakota Sweeney

According to official statements from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dakota Sweeney, 28, was taken into custody by the Carrollton Missouri Police Department on Wednesday, April 22. The following day, Sweeney was formally charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

The incident unfolded at approximately 10:25 p.m. last Wednesday. Law enforcement officials responded to reports of a shooting at a local residence, where they discovered the deceased body of 75-year-old Gayle R. Wilson. A witness at the scene reportedly identified Sweeney as the suspect, leading to an arrest without incident.

Currently, Sweeney is being held at the Caldwell County Jail under a no-bond warrant, while the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control continues its homicide investigation.

A Loss Marked by Kindness

Gayle R. Wilson was more than just a grandmother to West and Dakota; she was described in her obituary as a woman who “lived a life marked by creativity, kindness, and cherished moments.” She leaves behind her husband, Roger, four children, and seven grandchildren.

A Heartbreaking Timeline: Reality TV vs. Real-Life Tragedy

The timing of this tragedy is particularly harrowing. The murder occurred just one night before West Wilson, 31, traveled to New York City to film the Summer House Season 10 reunion. While the cameras captured the superficial conflicts of reality television, Wilson was facing a profound personal crisis.

Ongoing Tension on ‘Summer House’

While the family deals with this loss, West has recently been at the center of significant drama within the Summer House cast. His romantic relationship with co-star Amanda Batula has sparked intense friction, particularly with:

n
• Ciara Miller: Batula’s best friend and West’s former partner, who reportedly called Batula a “snake” in leaked audio from the reunion.
• Kyle Cooke: Batula’s estranged husband, who has publicly criticized West’s integrity and claimed he failed to support Batula during the reunion’s heated confrontations.

Despite the public turmoil and the leaked audio tapes, West Wilson has remained largely silent since the filming of the reunion, as he and Batula confirmed their relationship via Instagram on March 31.

Our thoughts are with the Wilson family during this incredibly difficult time as they seek justice and healing.
