Jerzy Robinson Signs with South Carolina Women’s Basketball

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley has announced the signing of highly-touted recruit Jerzy Robinson (Chatsworth, CA/Sierra Canyon) to a National Letter of Intent. Robinson will join the Gamecocks with four years of eligibility, beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.

The 6-foot guard is currently ranked as the No. 6 player in the Class of 2026, boasting an impressive skillset and a proven track record of success. Her commitment significantly strengthens the Gamecocks’ already formidable roster.

A Rising Star with International Experience

Robinson isn’t just a dominant force domestically; she’s also a standout performer on the international stage with USA Basketball. “Jerzy is an all-level scorer who can shoot it from outside, get to her spots and be physical in the paint,” Coach Staley stated. “Beyond that, she has a winning mentality that she brings to every possession and every matchup she faces. Her competitive spirit and confidence will elevate our program. We can’t wait to get Jerzy to campus and for the FAMS to embrace her and her family.”

High School Highlights

Robinson’s high school career at Sierra Canyon has been nothing short of spectacular. A two-time Los Angeles Times All-Star Team member and three-time All-CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS) First-Team selection, she concluded her time with the Trailblazers as the program’s all-time leading scorer in just three seasons. Her consistent scoring prowess is evident in her averages of over 20.0 points per game throughout her high school career, coupled with double-digit rebounds in her first two seasons.

This past season, Robinson led Sierra Canyon to the CIF-SS Open Division championship, overcoming the top two seeds along the way. She delivered a dominant performance in the championship game, scoring 32 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Her outstanding season earned her the 2026 CIF-SS co-Player of the Year award and the Southern California Offensive Player of the Year title from High School on Sports Illustrated. Her season averages included 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

USA Basketball Dominance

Robinson’s impact extends beyond high school and into the realm of international competition. She has been a key contributor to USA Basketball teams since her debut at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. Her exceptional performance led the tournament with 17.3 points per game, earning her the unprecedented honor of being the youngest MVP in the event’s history as the U.S. secured gold.

She continued her dominance in the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, once again leading the U.S. to a gold medal with a tournament-best 20.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, securing her second consecutive MVP award. Robinson also contributed to the U.S.’s gold-medal victory at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, adding 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds. Most recently, she showcased her skills at the Nike Hoops Summit this summer, leading her team with 19 points in 23 minutes of play.

Robinson joins fellow recruits Kelsi Andrews and Kaeli Wynn in the Gamecocks’ impressive 2026 class. The future looks bright for South Carolina women’s basketball!
