A new dawn is breaking for Kentucky football, and that’s vividly apparent in their recent recruiting success. The Will Stein era has secured its biggest commitment yet: Prospect Heights (Ill.) Hersey four-star quarterback Jake Nawrot. This is a monumental win for the Wildcats.
Nawrot, an Iowa legacy, was heavily pursued by the Hawkeyes, but also drew significant interest from Oregon and Kansas State. However, Kentucky managed to get him on campus and ultimately land his pledge. This commitment signals a shift in the program’s ability to attract top-tier talent.

According to the Rivals300, Nawrot is ranked as the No. 34 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Brown is currently ranked as the No. 233 recruit and No. 27 defensive lineman in the nation. The Wildcats have also secured the commitment of Vigor (Ala.) three-star cornerback Miguel Wilson.
Louisville Jeffersontown Magnet three-star safety Larron Westmoreland chose UK over Louisville on February 13th, and is ranked as the No. 441 overall prospect and No. 38 safety in the cycle. Westmoreland shared with Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, “As far as Kentucky, what really stands out to me is the culture and the direction the program is heading. I love the passion of the fanbase, the atmosphere around the program, and how much pride there is in representing Kentucky. Being around the staff, you can tell everything is very intentional and player-focused.”
Kentucky is also seeing strong in-state support, with commitments from Owensboro three-star linebacker Ty Ashley and Somerset Pulaski County three-star interior offensive lineman Brady Hull. The class currently ranks No. 9 in the SEC, demonstrating the program’s growing momentum.
