Hull vs Coventry: Lampard Announces Lineup with Key Changes

Frank Lampard has announced his Coventry City starting eleven for tonight’s crucial Championship fixture against Hull City at the MKM Stadium (8pm kickoff). The Sky Blues face a tough test against the fifth-placed Tigers, and Lampard has made four changes to the team, including one forced by injury.

Team Lineups

The biggest news is the absence of center-back Bobby Thomas, who picked up a knock during the Good Friday match against Derby County. This opens the door for Joel Latibeaudiere to return to the back four, partnering Liam Kitching. The full-back positions remain unchanged with Milan van Ewijk and Jay Dasilva flanking the central defensive duo, while Carl Rushworth continues in goal.

Skipper Matt Grimes and Frank Onyeka retain their places in the holding midfield roles. Tatsuhiro Sakamoto is again deployed on the right wing, providing pace and creativity. Ephron Mason-Clark replaces Romain Esse on the left flank, adding another attacking threat. Victor Torp comes into the number ten role, taking the place of Josh Eccles, and Haji Wright leads the line, swapping with Ellis Simms.

Injury Updates & Substitutes

Brandon Thomas-Asante remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained before the international break. Jack Rudoni, who scored the winning goal on Good Friday, is again among the substitutes as he continues a phased return from a calf injury. The bench also includes Simms, Esse, and Jahnoah Markelo, providing Lampard with attacking options should they be needed.

Coventry City Starting XI: Carl Rushworth; Milan van Ewijk, Joel Latibeaudiere, Liam Kitching, Jay Dasilva; Frank Onyeka, Matt Grimes; Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Victor Torp, Ephron Mason-Clark, Haji Wright.

Substitutes: Ben Wilson (GK), Luke Woolfenden, Jake Bidwell, Josh Eccles, Jahnoah Markelo, Jack Rudoni, Ellis Simms, Romain Esse, Jamie Allen.
