Christian Yelich and Royals-Brewers Series Update: Doubleheader Scheduled

Royals-Brewers Series Rescheduled: Doubleheader Set for Saturday

Due to inclement weather impacting the Kansas City area, Friday night’s series opener between the Kansas City Royals and the Milwaukee Brewers, featuring star outfielder Christian Yelich, has been postponed. Baseball fans will now have a thrilling Saturday at Kauffman Stadium with a split doubleheader.

Saturday’s Schedule

The originally scheduled game will now begin at 1:10 p.m. CT, followed by the rescheduled game from Friday at 6:10 p.m. CT. Both games will be broadcast live on Royals.TV and Brewers.TV, ensuring fans don’t miss any of the action.

Ticket Information

Good news for ticket holders! Tickets for Friday’s postponed game will be honored for the rescheduled game on Saturday at 6:10 p.m. CT. No ticket exchange is necessary for those wishing to attend the makeup game.

World Baseball Classic Recognition & Fireworks

The Royals will still honor their participants in the recent World Baseball Classic – including the champions from Team Venezuela – before the start of Game 2 on Saturday night. Following the second game, fans can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display presented by Price Chopper and Oreo. For more details, visit royals.com/weather.

Pitching Matchups

The pitching rotations have been adjusted to accommodate the doubleheader. The Royals will start No. 9 prospect Luinder Avila, recently recalled from Triple-A Omaha, in Game 1, facing off against the Brewers’ Chad Patrick. Both pitchers were originally slated to start Friday’s game.

Game 2 will feature a matchup between Royals right-hander Seth Lugo and Brewers right-hander Brandon Sproat.

Royals Pitching Updates

Avila’s call-up comes as a replacement for Michael Wacha, who is currently sidelined due to illness. The Royals don’t anticipate Wacha missing more than one start and are considering rotation adjustments next week to facilitate his return. In a corresponding move, the Royals have placed lefty Bailey Falter on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation.

Both teams are permitted to add a 27th player to their rosters for Saturday’s doubleheader, providing additional flexibility.

Keep an eye on Christian Yelich and the Brewers as they take on the Royals in this exciting Saturday doubleheader!
