Live Nation Faces Lawsuit Over Heatwave Injuries at K-Pop Concert

WASHINGTON (7News) – A legal battle is brewing against Live Nation, the District of Columbia, and other entities following a K-Pop concert at Nationals Park last year. Nearly 30 attendees are suing, alleging negligence led to heat-related injuries during a severe heatwave.

The Allegations: Negligence and Lack of Resources

The lawsuit, filed in D.C. Superior Court, centers around the Stray Kids concert held on June 23, 2025, when temperatures soared close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Plaintiffs claim event organizers, including Live Nation, failed to provide adequate water and cooling resources for concertgoers. This alleged negligence directly contributed to the illnesses suffered by attendees.

Despite previous statements from Nationals Park officials regarding the availability of cooling rooms, misting fans, and permitted water bottles, attendees report being forced to discard their own water upon entry. This policy, coupled with allegedly inflated prices for water inside the venue, created a dangerous situation for those exposed to the extreme heat.

Reports of Illness and Hospitalizations

Court documents detail harrowing accounts of concertgoers passing out and vomiting due to heat exposure. Victoria Wisor, a plaintiff from Pennsylvania, shared her experience with 7News’ I-Team in November 2025, highlighting the severity of the conditions. A total of six individuals required hospitalization for heat-related illnesses, ultimately leading the performers to cut the show short.

Who Else is Named in the Lawsuit?

The lawsuit extends beyond Live Nation, also naming Events D.C. and Levy GP Corporation, the food service provider for Nationals Park, as responsible parties. Plaintiffs allege that security lines further exacerbated the problem, preventing attendees from accessing shade and relief from the heat. The lawsuit also claims price gouging on water purchases.

Geographic Reach of the Plaintiffs

The affected concertgoers hail from across the country, including Arizona, Minnesota, and nine other states, as well as the District of Columbia, demonstrating the widespread impact of the alleged negligence. This case raises important questions about event safety protocols and the responsibility of event organizers to protect attendees during extreme weather conditions.
