Dijon Astronomy Workshops: Explore the Universe!
The “Un Tigre au parc” association, based in the Clemenceau district of Dijon, France, is thrilled to announce its 11th Astronomy Workshops, in collaboration with the Société Astronomique de Bourgogne (SAB). Mark your calendars for Friday, May 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, held at the parking lot of the Jean-Philippe Rameau Conservatory of Music.
A Day and Evening of Celestial Discovery
This free event promises an immersive experience into the wonders of astronomy, suitable for all ages – from preschool children to high school students, and everyone in between! School groups, after-school programs, and community centers are especially welcome. While the event is free, please note that it is subject to cancellation (not postponement) in case of inclement weather, such as rain or heavy cloud cover.
Afternoon Activities (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
- Solar Observation: Experienced astronomers from the SAB will guide participants in safely observing the sun using high-performance telescopes equipped with specialized filters.
- Meteorite Display: Explore a fascinating collection of meteorites and learn about their origins.
- Astrophotography Showcase: View stunning images of celestial objects captured by the SAB.
- Interactive Fun: Enjoy storytelling sessions, coloring activities, and astronomy-themed games.
Evening Observations (6:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
As darkness falls, the focus shifts to observing the moon, planets, stars, and constellations. No reservation is required for evening viewing. Bring your curiosity and prepare to be amazed by the beauty of the night sky!
