Bradley Chubb: Dolphins Release Key Linebacker

Miami Dolphins Part Ways with Linebacker Bradley Chubb

The Miami Dolphins announced today the release of linebacker Bradley Chubb with a post-June 1 designation. This marks the end of Chubb’s four-season tenure with the team (2022-2025), during which he became a fan favorite and a key contributor to the Dolphins’ defense.

Chubb’s Impact in Miami

Over 41 games with the Dolphins, Chubb made 40 starts, amassing an impressive 133 tackles (74 solo). He consistently pressured opposing quarterbacks, recording 22.0 sacks, two passes defensed, nine forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. His performance earned him a Pro Bowl selection in 2022, solidifying his status as one of the league’s rising stars.

Beyond his on-field contributions, Chubb was recognized for his community involvement. He was the team’s 2023 Nat Moore Community Service Award winner, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact off the field. In 2025, his teammates voted him a team captain, and he was nominated as the club’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, a testament to his character and leadership.

A Look Back at Chubb’s Career

Chubb’s NFL journey began with the Denver Broncos, who selected him as a first-round pick (fifth overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons in Denver (2018-2022), starting 89 of his 90 career games. He was acquired by Miami in a trade with Denver on November 1, 2022, a move that initially bolstered the Dolphins’ pass rush.

Throughout his career, Chubb has consistently demonstrated a relentless motor and a knack for disrupting opposing offenses. His departure leaves a void in the Dolphins’ defensive lineup.
