STM Bus Network Redesign: A Smoother Commute for Pointe-Claire Residents
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is undergoing a significant bus network redesign, impacting over 80 routes across six boroughs and nine demerged cities, including Pointe-Claire. This overhaul is designed to enhance service, simplify routes, and crucially, ensure seamless connections with the Réseau express régional (REM) when the Anse-à-l’Orme branch opens – currently slated for Spring 2026.
Postponed Public Event & Staying Informed
Due to the recent severe weather forecast, the STM has postponed its public event originally scheduled for March 11th. This meeting, intended to present and discuss the new bus network redesign with Pointe-Claire residents, will be rescheduled. Stay updated by clicking ‘Going’ or ‘Interested’ on the Facebook event page. The STM and the City of Pointe-Claire recommend limiting non-essential travel during the expected freezing rain.
Connecting to the REM: A Key Focus
A central goal of the redesign is to optimize connections to the upcoming REM Anse-à-l’Orme branch. The STM has been proactively sharing information about these changes on its website, highlighting how the new network will offer improved services and simplified routes. The changes aren’t just about the REM, however; they aim to improve transit throughout the affected areas.

What Does the Redesign Mean for Pointe-Claire?
The redesign in Pointe-Claire will improve access to the REM, strengthen connections between neighbourhoods and major hubs, and streamline express service along the Highway 20 corridor. The Navette Or service, a shared taxi service for residents aged 65 and over, will remain unaffected by these changes.
