Historically, the Seattle Sounders have dominated the series with a 5-1-0 record dating back to CITY SC’s inaugural season. However, St. Louis CITY SC secured their only victory against Seattle last season, right here at Energizer Park. A stunning free-kick from Eduard Löwen proved to be the decisive moment. This goal marked the first-ever CITY SC strike at the newly named Energizer Park and resulted in a clean sheet against the Sounders – a significant milestone for the club.
Scouting the Seattle Sounders
The Seattle Sounders began their season with a promising 2-0 win against the Colorado Rapids. However, they faced a setback last weekend, falling 2-1 on the road to Real Salt Lake. This loss marks the fifth consecutive year the Sounders have lost their first away match of the season. Their match against RSL was the first of five away games for the Sounders, as Lumen Field undergoes upgrades in preparation for hosting matches during the FIFA World Cup this summer. Last season, the Sounders posted a 5-8-4 record on the road.
