REM Users: Pay Attention to New Route Displays
Montreal’s Réseau express métropolitain (REM) is entering a crucial phase of testing as it prepares for the spring opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch. Starting Friday, riders will need to be extra vigilant when boarding, as station screens will display two potential destinations for trains departing from Brossard: Bois-Franc or A4 – Deux-Montagnes.
Transit officials are urging passengers to carefully verify their train’s direction before boarding. Trains heading to Bois-Franc will terminate at that station. Those travelling to stations beyond Bois-Franc, towards Deux-Montagnes, must board trains clearly marked A4 – Deux-Montagnes.
This change is part of dynamic testing aimed at optimizing the network’s timetable, including train arrival and departure times and service intervals. In the coming weeks, trains are expected to extend their runs all the way to Anse-à-l’Orme as testing progresses. For the most up-to-date information, riders are advised to check station screens, listen for onboard announcements, and utilize real-time trip planners.
