The racing community is mourning the loss of Chase Pistone, a talented driver and dedicated team owner who competed in 10 NASCAR National Series events between 2005 and 2014. Pistone passed away at the age of 42, leaving behind a legacy of passion and dedication to motorsports.
A Career Spanning Multiple Series
The news of Pistone’s passing was confirmed by his brother, Nick Pistone, in a heartfelt Facebook post on Monday afternoon. “Well my young brother and best friend is gone,” Nick wrote, expressing his profound grief. “I’m broken hearted and don’t know if I’ll ever get over this. I miss you Chase already and I hope you are you are in a better place. I love you and I miss you so much already!!!!!!!”
Chase Pistone’s career encompassed several prominent racing series. He made four starts in what is now the NASCAR Xfinity Series (formerly the NASCAR Nationwide Series). His debut in 2006 with Braun Racing saw him finish 37th after battling overheating issues. He achieved a career-best 14th-place finish at Iowa Speedway in 2014, driving the No. 31 Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports.
Beyond the Xfinity Series, Pistone also competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, making six starts with a best finish of ninth at Gateway in 2014 while driving the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado for NTS Motorsports. He also showcased his versatility with a top-10 finish in his single ARCA Menards Series start at Iowa Speedway in 2006 and a victory in the 2007 USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series event at Concord Speedway.
Legends Car Success and Family Legacy
Pistone was a dominant force in Legends Car racing, earning four Summer Shootout Championships and claiming over 80 feature wins across Legends, Late Model, and USAR competition, according to his now-inactive official website. His passion for racing was clearly evident in his dedication to both driving and team ownership.
Adding to his racing heritage, Pistone was the grandson of “Tiger” Tom Pistone, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner. This family connection further cemented his place within the history of American motorsports.
