Women’s History Month: A Musical Journey with Afropop Worldwide

Afropop Worldwide brings you a four-part series showcasing incredible female artists from across the African continent. These specials delve into the lives and music of women who are shaping the future of African music, blending tradition with innovation.

  • Four Women of the West (Friday, March 6, 8:00 p.m. & Saturday, March 7, 6:00 p.m.): Explore the groundbreaking work of Mali’s Fatoumata Diawara, Senegal’s Aida Samb, Cape Verde’s Elida Almeida, and Benin’s Angelique Kidjo. Hear how they are pushing boundaries and captivating audiences worldwide. Afropop Worldwide provides a wealth of information on these artists and the broader African music scene.

Storytellers: Muslims, Community, and Culture in America

(Thursday, March 12, 3:00 p.m.) This special broadcast offers a powerful and authentic look into the lives of Muslim Americans.
