A Kansas City man, Preston R. Reiff, has been charged with multiple offenses following a shocking incident involving the theft of a Greyhound bus. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, resulted in an estimated $75,000+ in damages before Reiff was apprehended by authorities.

According to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson, Reiff is charged with stealing, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and first-degree property damage. Thanks to GPS tracking, law enforcement quickly located the stolen Greyhound bus traveling north on Interstate 29 near Northwest 56th Street. Kansas City Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop, but Reiff refused to comply. The suspect finally pulled over after both front tires were disabled.
