The Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) playoffs are underway, and Surrey and White Rock teams are making a significant impact! The White Rock Whalers, Surrey Knights, and Cloverdale HC have all successfully advanced to Round 2 of the Harold Brittain Conference playoffs, showcasing impressive skill and determination.
White Rock Whalers Sweep the Competition
The White Rock Whalers delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the Aldergrove Ironmen 4-0 in a decisive series. Their offensive power was on full display, with scores of 11-1, 9-1, 10-0, and 7-1. This clean sweep demonstrates the Whalers’ strength and sets a high bar for their upcoming challenges.
Surrey Knights Battle to Victory
The Surrey Knights faced a tougher challenge against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, ultimately winning the series 4-1. While they secured a strong 4-0 victory in the first game, they experienced a setback in Game 2, losing 2-4. However, the Knights rallied, winning the next three games with scores of 6-3, 4-3 (in overtime!), and 7-2, proving their resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
Cloverdale HC Secures a Hard-Fought Win
Cloverdale HC also emerged victorious against the Abbotsford Pilots, though their path to Round 2 was more complex. After falling 3-7 in the opening game, Cloverdale demonstrated incredible determination, winning the next three games consecutively with scores of 8-3, 4-3, and 5-2. Despite a loss in Game 5 (2-3), they clinched the series with a 4-2 win in Game 6.
Round 2 Matchups Announced
The stage is now set for Round 2! The Cloverdale HC will face off against the White Rock Whalers in what promises to be a thrilling local matchup. Tom Shaw Conference Playoffs Underway
Action is also heating up in the Tom Shaw Conference (Tier 1 playoffs). As of February 27th, the Richmond Sockeyes lead the Burnaby Steelers 2-0, the Langley Trappers are ahead of the Chilliwack Jets 2-0, the Delta Ice Hawks lead the Coastal Tsunami 2-0, and the Ridge Meadow Flames and Port Coquitlam Trailblazers are tied at one win apiece.
