BC Hydro Announces Planned Power Outages in Fort St. John Area

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – BC Hydro has announced a series of planned power outages affecting more than 50 customers in and around Fort St. John. These interruptions are necessary for critical infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, ensuring the continued reliability of the power grid.

Outage Schedule

According to BC Hydro’s outage schedule, the following areas will be affected:

  • March 6th, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: 1 customer near Hudson’s Hope Road M 7.
  • March 8th, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: 3 customers around West Bypass Road.
  • March 9th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: 49 customers in the vicinity of Aitken Cr Road, Aitkin Cr Road, Bartch Street, Bartsch Road, Beatton Road, Evergreen Road, and Letkiman Avenue, Buick Creek.

This follows a previous planned outage on February 15th, which impacted nearly 1,000 customers in Pouce Coupe and surrounding communities. BC Hydro routinely performs planned maintenance to prevent larger, unexpected outages and to improve the overall efficiency of the power system.
