The Voice 2026: A New Era with Druski

The Voice is strategically aiming for a younger demographic with its upcoming season, and a bold move has been made: popular content creator Druski has been added to the show’s lineup. NBC has officially announced Druski as a special commentator for Season 29, aptly titled The Voice: Battle of Champions.

Who is Druski?

Druski rose to prominence in 2021 with the launch of Coulda Been Records, a platform that quickly became a viral sensation. The platform allowed musicians to showcase their talents on his Instagram Lives, while Druski provided his signature comedic commentary, playfully poking fun at celebrities like Drake, Kevin Hart, Timothée Chalamet, Justin Bieber, J. Cole, and Snoop Dogg. He’s expanded his creative endeavors with self-produced shows like Could Been Love and Coulda Been House, and the comedy and music festival, Coulda Fest.

While known for his humor, Druski also sparked conversation earlier this year at the NFL Honors when he playfully mispronounced Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name, following the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver’s Offensive Player of the Year win. This moment highlighted his ability to generate buzz and engage audiences.

A First for The Voice

Druski marks a groundbreaking addition to The Voice as the show’s first-ever commentator. He’ll be providing unique insights into the coaches’ strategies, analyzing the Triple Turn Competition, and offering his take on the Super Steal. Adding to the excitement, Druski is expected to be joined by a roster of NBA stars throughout the season.

This announcement follows NBC’s decision to extend each episode of The Voice to two hours, after pulling the drama series Brilliant Minds from the schedule. The premiere, set for February 23rd, promises a nostalgic reunion, bringing back fan-favorite coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine – the first time this trio has been together since Season 16.

Behind the Scenes

Season 29 was filmed concurrently with Season 28, which featured Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire. Carson Daly will continue to host. NBC has emphasized that this season will be “infused with fast-paced, competitive elements,” drawing inspiration from the high-energy atmosphere of NBC Sports’ coverage of events like the Super Bowl LX, the Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games, and the NBA All-Star Game.

The Voice is a production of MGM Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios’ The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher, and Barry Poznick.
