From the Track to the Ballroom: Ezra Frech’s Spectacular Rise on DWTS
The competition is heating up in Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, and a new powerhouse has emerged. While the ballroom has seen many celebrities, the current season is witnessing a dominant surge of athletic excellence. Leading the charge is Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech, whose transition from world-record sprinting to professional dancing is leaving both the judges and the audience breathless.
In a thrilling second week of competition, the leaderboard saw a stunning three-way tie for the top spot. Ezra Frech, alongside Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn and actress Jenna Dewan, all scored a perfect 21, proving that the “athlete’s mentality” is a secret weapon in the quest for the Mirrorball trophy.
The Performance That Stole the Show
Ezra Frech didn’t just dance; he electrified the floor. Performing a high-energy cha-cha to Flo Rida’s “Low,” Frech showcased a level of rhythm and confidence that defied expectations. Choreographed by the powerhouse Daniella Karagach, the routine was a masterclass in precision and charisma.
The judges’ reactions were nothing short of ecstatic:
- n
- Carrie Ann Inaba was visibly shocked, exclaiming, “What the Frech, Ezra?! You can move!”
- Derek Hough admitted he was “in awe” of Frech’s capabilities and expressed immense excitement for his growth in the competition.
- Bruno Tonioli summed up the performance in one word: “Fab-u-lous.”
The Competitive Edge: Sports vs. Dance
What makes Ezra Frech on DWTS so compelling is his approach to the challenge. Born with congenital limb differences, Frech has spent his life mastering his body for elite competition. In a recent interview with E! News, Frech revealed that his success in the ballroom stems from the same discipline he uses on the track.
“My meditation and the way I warm up my body… just demeanor,” Frech explained. While he admitted that ballroom dancing pushes him far outside his comfort zone compared to sprinting, his ability to embrace the role of a student is what is driving his rapid improvement.
A Power Couple Strategy
Beyond the celebrities, the influence of the professional partners cannot be ignored. Frech is paired with Daniella Karagach, and Amber Glenn is paired with Pasha Pashkov. Interestingly, Karagach and Pashkov are married and have a storied history of national and international championships together.
With Karagach’s previous victory in Season 30 and Pashkov’s exquisite choreography, the “Pashkov-Karagach household” is currently positioned as a major threat to win the Mirrorball trophy this season. If Frech and Glenn continue their trajectory, the trophy may very well stay within this dance dynasty.
What’s Next for Ezra Frech?
As the competition narrows, the remaining 13 couples are gearing up for the highly anticipated Yacht Rock Night. Will Ezra Frech maintain his lead, or will another contender steal the spotlight?
