Labour Day 2026: SQDC Branch and Online Service Schedule

As we approach the long weekend, it is time to plan ahead! If you are a customer of the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC), please take note of the upcoming schedule changes for the Labour Day holiday.

Is the SQDC open on Labour Day?

To allow employees to enjoy the festivities and rest, the SQDC has announced that its operations will be paused. On Monday, September 7, 2026, the following services will be unavailable:

    n

  • Physical Branches: All retail locations across the network will be closed.
  • Online Services: The majority of online ordering and digital services will be offline.
  • Phone Support: Customer service lines will be unavailable during the holiday.

We recommend that customers plan their purchases in advance to ensure they have everything they need before the holiday closure.

When will services resume?

Don’t worry! The hiatus is only for the holiday. All SQDC branches and online services will resume their regular operating hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

If you need to check the standard opening hours for any of the 114 points of sale, you can visit the official SQDC website for a complete directory.

Understanding the Role of the SQDC

The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) is more than just a retail network; it is a government enterprise with a critical mandate. Its primary goal is to ensure the safe distribution and sale of cannabis within Quebec, placing a high priority on public health and consumer safety.

By providing high-quality products and essential information regarding the effects of cannabis, the SQDC works to migrate consumers toward the legal market, reducing the risks associated with unregulated sources.

Commitment to Social Responsibility

It is also important to highlight that the dividends generated from the SQDC’s net results are allocated to the Fonds de lutte contre les dépendances (Addiction Fighter Fund). Managed by the Ministère des Finances du Québec, these funds are dedicated to research and the prevention of cannabis-related harms.
