A Musical Forecast: Role Model Brings ‘Chuck Timely’ to the TODAY Show
Music and meteorology collided in the most unexpected and charming way this morning at Studio 1A. The talented singer Role Model (known to his fans as Tucker Pillsbury) joined the legendary Al Roker for a weather segment that was less about the rain and more about the rhythms of his latest creative venture.
The visit served as a vibrant celebration for the release of his highly anticipated third album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, which officially drops on August 7. To mark the occasion, Al Roker and Role Model transformed the national weather map into a lyrical scavenger hunt, picking cities that mirrored the themes and titles of the new record.
Mapping the Magic of ‘Chuck Timely & The Hourglass’
In a playful nod to the album’s title, the duo didn’t just stick to the big cities. They went off the beaten path to find locations that resonated with Role Model’s songwriting. The result was a whimsical tour of the United States based on song titles:
- Charles City, Iowa: A direct play on the album title, Chuck Timely.
- Joy, Texas: A tribute to the track “Joy,” which the singer described as being “very hot and very spicy,” much like the Texas weather.
- Midnight, Mississippi: Inspired by the hit single “Chasing Midnight.”
- Love, Arizona: A sweet nod to the song “Love I You.”
- Honeydew, California: Celebrating the track “Honeydew.”
- Harmony, Maine: A sentimental stop honoring the song “Harmony” and the singer’s beloved home state.
A Special Bond: From the Weather Map to the Big Stage
This isn’t the first time these two have shared a moment of gold. The chemistry between Al Roker and Tucker Pillsbury dates back to 2025, during a memorable TODAY show event at the Citi Concert Series. During a performance of the fan-favorite “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” Al stepped up as the lucky volunteer to dance on stage, complete with a cowboy hat and a wine glass in hand.
When Al asked if any of the many “Sallys” from his concerts stood out, Role Model didn’t hesitate to crown the weatherman, admitting, “You were my favorite.”
