Just 72 hours before the curtains were set to rise at the Salle Albert-Rousseau, fans received shocking news: the renowned comedian PA Méthot will no longer be portraying the iconic Captain Hook.
After a triumphant run in Montreal, where the role was held by Benoît Brière, the production was eagerly anticipated in the capital. However, in a heartfelt announcement, Méthot revealed that he is stepping away from the production due to unforeseen physical and mental challenges.

“I was over the moon and worked excessively hard on my preparation, but when it was time to board the train and keep up with the pace, my body and mind simply couldn’t follow,” the artist shared in a recent statement.

The decision was not made lightly. Groupe Entourage, the production company behind the show, noted that the physical demands of the performance were simply too high for Méthot to recover in time. The schedule is notoriously grueling, featuring:

Crucially, St-Laurent has already stepped in as a substitute for Benoît Brière during the Montreal run, making him the perfect candidate to hit the ground running for the Quebec City premiere on August 6th.
