Silver Lining in Short Track Speed Skating
An ambitious Canadian short track speed skating team secured its first medal of the Games, winning silver in the mixed relay. This marks Canada’s inaugural Olympic medal in the event, which debuted at Beijing 2022. Kim Boutin claimed her fifth career Olympic medal, solidifying her position as Canada’s most decorated female short track speed skater. The team, comprised of Boutin, Courtney Sarault, William Dandjinou, and Félix Roussel, with contributions from Florence Brunelle and Steven Dubois in earlier rounds, delivered a thrilling performance.

Short Track Heats and Challenges
The day began with the women’s 500m heats, where Sarault, Boutin, and Brunelle all advanced to the quarterfinals scheduled for Thursday. In the men’s 1000m, Dandjinou and Roussel won their heats, also progressing to Thursday’s quarterfinals. Unfortunately, Steven Dubois faced a collision, resulting in his elimination from the event.
Figure Skating: Gogolev’s Top 10 Finish
Stephen Gogolev delivered a strong performance in the men’s short program, finishing 10th with a score of 87.41. This secures his spot in the second-to-last flight of the men’s free skate on Friday.

Moguls Skiing: Canadians Qualify for Finals
Four Canadians have directly advanced to the finals of both the men’s and women’s moguls events. In the first men’s qualification round, Julien Viel (79.56) and Mikaël Kingsbury (79.11) finished second and third, respectively, behind Japan’s Ikuma Horishima (85.42). Elliot Vaillancourt, who placed 16th, will have another chance to qualify. MaÏa Schwinghammer led the Canadian women, placing sixth with 74.90 points, followed by Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert in eighth. Ashley Koehler and Jessica Linton will compete in the second qualification round.

Women’s Hockey: Canada Falls to the United States
The United States defeated Team Canada 5-0 in a highly anticipated women’s hockey match, maintaining their perfect 4-0 record in the preliminary round. Canada will face Finland on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. ET in their final group stage game. The Canada Olympic Hockey Team 2026 will be looking to rebound from this loss.

- Biathlon (Men’s 20km Individual): Adam Runnalls (64th), Zachary Connelly (66th), Logan Pletz (77th), and Jasper Fleming (86th) represented Canada.
